Guitar & bass player, singer

songwriter, tech, teacher, producer

ABOUT ME

Born and raised in Portland OR, I’ve been playing guitar and bass and writing songs for 20 years. In that time I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of countless musical projects, both as lead and sideman.

Musicians hire me not only because I can learn songs lightning-quick, but also because I’m dedicated, punctual, and easy to work with. As both a musician and a producer, I bring creative ideas and recording experience, and bring the best out of those around me. As a teacher my enthusiasm for music theory and guitar technique comes through in the form of easily-understood, practical lessons, which focus on consistent improvement and learning the songs that my students love.

From the start I’ve had a DIY mindset, from recording songs on an old Boss BR900 as a teenager, to now, where I have my own modest (but treated!) home studio, where I’m recording my forthcoming People With Accents album, We Should Celebrate, our third full-length. If you need a song or demo recorded, reach out and see if I can be of help.

People With Accents is a duo with myself and longtime drummer/collaborator Jane Knight (aka indr prk). Other current endeavors include: an upcoming solo project called Well Kinda - Guitarist and producer for local singer-songwriter Jenny Ki -Guitar tech for blues phenom Ben Rice.

I’m a musical Swiss army knife. If you need a guitarist or bass player to learn a setlist on short notice, a guitar tech, guitar, bass or music theory lessons, or someone to produce your next single or album, I’d love to hear from you about your project!

My rates are affordable and negotiable, and I have 20 years of experience in songwriting, and in live and recorded music settings, and I have a modest treated home studio. I’m also easy to work with, highly creative, and have reliable transportation. Music should be a joy to make and perform, so hit me up and let’s make it happen.
